Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

Here at Big Brother Systems Ltd we take environmental matters very seriously.

We look at the impact we have on the inviroment as a business from CO2 emissions into the atmosphere through to the recycling of electronic waste.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law.

The legislation aims to charge producers for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical & electronic equipment. Internet Retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge Under the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) guidelines we offer customers a like for like free reycling of product when replacements are ordered from us, this is a free recycling service where we will collect the old equipment and then dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way. This means that all WEEE products are recycled correctly ans safely,and these recycling techniques are to ensure human health and prtotection of the enviroment. All we need from you is your co-operation to help us to recycle WEEE products by returning your items to us. Any products with the WEEE symbol on it can be recycled through the WEEE procedures. For details of how this procedure works please email us on techsupport@bigbrothersystems.com indicating that you have ordered a like for like replacement product, quoting the invoice no: The following proceedures will help you along this route.

1. Please email us and tell them that you have that you have an item that you would like us to dispose of under the WEEE guidelines. (The item we are collecting must be a like for like product that you are ordering from us, e.g. DVR for DVR, PC-DVDR-for PC-DVR, Camera for Camera and so on) The WEEE product must be back here within 28 days of the date of your replacement order.

2. We will arrange for a collection of your WEEE product at no cost to you.

3. What you will need to do is: pack the item carefully and have it ready for collection we will email you the address and WEEE paperwork for you to affix to the outside of the packing.

4. The item is then collected and we will arrange for its disposal in a safe environmentally friendly way in line with all legislation surrounding our WEEE policy.

5. Note that we will attempt a collection on the date you give us, we cannot give you an exact time, because this service is free we will only have 1 attempt of collecting, if the collection fails because you are not there on the pre arranged date then you must return it to us yourself at your expense. alternatively you can take the old product to your local Recycling Centre which is usually free.

6. If you come to our factory, you can collect your order and you can bring with you like for like, ( Camera for 1 Camera etc) your old product will then be disposed of correctly.
