A simple Local and Remote tester for PC Networks and Power over Ethernet using Cat5e, simply run the Cat5e from DVR to Camera position, crimp on the RJ45 connectors, connect the Camera plug into the Remote tester in the kit, then connect the DVR plug into the Local tester in the kit, switch on and check the LED's plug in and it is finished.

The CCTV industry as cameras are not getting so hungry for power will eventually go this route - - Power Over Ethernet .

This is a simple 2 device tester comprising of 2 units, 1 has dual inputs for testing cables where both end are available locally, and the dual unit simply allows each unit to be connected to each end of the CCTV or Network Cable,  this ensures no crossed or shorted connections, on PC networks it simply won't connect- - - so fit a new plug , for CCTV this is a different issue as there are voltages in the cable, getting them wrong could damage the equipment.

With this tester it is easy, don't connect until the LED's indicate all is safe to do so.

Use if for your home or office networks, make new cables to move your router or network printer to a more convenient position.
